Getting started with iRox
Use iRox on Apple Watch to record a HYROX race—alternating 1 km runs and functional workout stations—as one continuous Apple Health workout.
Before your first race
- Set up both devices. Make sure iRox is available on your paired iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Allow Apple Health access. iRox uses workout, heart-rate, active-energy, and distance data to record the race and show live metrics.
- Wear your watch securely. A comfortable, close fit helps Apple Watch capture heart-rate readings during the workout.
Race format
iRox supports the HYROX race format: eight 1 km runs alternating with eight functional workout stations. It follows that run-and-station sequence without making you stop and select a different Apple Health workout type.
When you advance from a run to a station, or from a station back to the next run, iRox switches the race display to the correct segment while the same workout continues recording.
Record a race
- Open iRox on Apple Watch.
- Tap Start Race.
- Complete the first 1 km run, advance to its workout station, and continue alternating through the race.
- Check heart rate, run pace, progress, and elapsed time without changing workout types.
- Finish or cancel the workout to save it to your race history.
What you see during a race
- Heart rate shows your current effort in beats per minute.
- Run pace shows your current pace during running segments.
- Segment time tracks the current run or station.
- Total time continues across the complete workout.
If a metric is missing, review the Apple Health permissions described on the Settings page.
